She has 32 years of experience providing services as a surgical assistant and surgical technologist. Her most recent experience in the last 10 years has been as a surgical assistant for Greater Austin Surgical Assistants (GASA) where cases are assigned with various surgeons performing OBGYN, Urology, and General surgeries.
In her role as a surgical assistant, she helps position the patients, place tocars in laparoscopic cases, place instruments for robotic cases, and generally assist surgeons to manipulate, cut or suture tissue.
Prior to joining the GASA team, Sally thrived as an independent surgical assistant for 7 years (2006-2013), first as a CFA and then as a LSA where she primarily worked on Bariatric and Orthopedic cases. Sally began her surgical career in 1991 as a CST at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas where she worked for 7 years. After moving to Austin, Texas and earning her degree in Biology from University of Texas, she continued her CST specialty while working at St. David’s Medical Center from 2000-2006.
